1. What materials do magnets attract?
Ferrous (metal) materials are strongly attracted by a magnetic force. The elements iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), and cobalt (Co) are the most commonly available elements. Steel is ferromagnetic because it is an alloy of iron and other metals.
2. What are neodymium magnets?
A neodymium magnet, the most widely used type of rare earth magnet, is a powerful permanent magnet. They are called rare-earth because neodymium is a member of the rare-earth elements on the periodic table. Neodymium magnets are the strongest of the rare earth magnets and are the strongest permanent magnets in the world.
3. Will my bands lose strength over time?
Very little. Neodymium magnets are the strongest permanent magnet known to man. If they are not over heated or physically damaged, neodymium magnets will lose less than 1% of their strength over 10 years-- not enough for you to notice unless you have very sensetive
measuring equipment. They won't even lose their strength if they are held in repelling or attracting positions with other magnets over long periods of time.
4. Are my bands dishwasher safe?
Yes. We have run them through the sanitary cycles on our dishwashers and we found no loss of magnet strength or change in silicone.
5. How do I clean my bands?
We recommend using a cloth dampened with soapy water. A cloth dampened with window cleaner works for heavier soiled bands
6. How far can I stretch a band?
To prevent the bands from tearing, do not leave bands over stretched for extended periods of time. StickQuik Bands should be stretched 2x its size only when applying to a tool or utensil.
7. Is StickQuik easy to apply?
StickQuik Bands are easy to stretch over a tool, utensil or implement. A dab of water can help the band slide easier on the item.
8. Can both the 3/8" & 1/2" bands hold the same weight?
Yes. Both sizes of StickQuik Bands have the same neodymium magnet embedded. The only difference between the bands is the size of the diameter. Our 3/4" can hold more because is has a larger magnet.
9. After being on a tool for while, will StickQuik retain the tool's shape?
No. After being removed, because of the properties of the silicone, the StickQuik band will go back to its original shape, ready to go.
